Jonathan Gula has announced his candidacy for Franklin Township supervisor on the Republican ticket.

A resident of Franklin Township for the past nine years, Gula brings vast practical experience and a sense of civic duty to the position.He has been an active volunteer firefighter for 15 years, first at the Diligent Fire Company in Jim Thorpe and currently with the Franklin Township Fire department for the past eight years, where he also serves as treasurer.He volunteers countless hours organizing and participating in fire company fundraisers.Additionally, he serves as a wildland firefighter with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.Gula graduated from Jim Thorpe Area High School in 2002.He furthered his education at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute with a certification in heavy equipment operations and acquired his Class A commercial driver's license.In addition he has taken classes at Bucks County Community College to further his firefighting skills.As an employee of Lehigh Township Public Works Department since 2006, he brings a tremendous amount of experience to his position, including an in-depth understanding of the internal workings of a township. He possesses firsthand knowledge of the challenge of providing quality, cost-effective services that are fiscally responsible to the taxpayers, while still maintaining a qualified and fairly compensated workforce. He has experience in road repair and resurfacing, heavy equipment maintenance, snow plowing, line painting, park maintenance, and other public works related tasks.Gula plans to bring integrity and transparency to the position of supervisor. He supports a local township police department, fair and equitable compensation for all township employees white still remaining fiscally responsible to the taxpayers.He seeks enjoyable parks for the children of the township.Through sensible decision-making, Gula will work to keep Franklin Township a quality place to live and raise a family.
