A fire safety or simulated smoke house from the Tobyhanna Army Depot will be available to demonstrate safe ways to escape a house fire; Pocono Medical Center will check blood pressure; and the West End Health Care Center will be represented and there will be lots free literature.5K9 run/walkThe West End Park and Open Space Commission will hold an inaugural 5K9 Trail Leisure Run/Walk at the West End Regional Park on 578 Evergreen Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, with registration beginning at 9 a.m.The run/walk is open to all ages and abilities and the "Dave Fleetwood Memorial Trail" will be available for those wishing a leisurely walk on a firm and stable surface accessible to all wheeled devices. Dogs are welcome as long as they remain on a leash, with a 6-foot maximum.All proceeds will fund the West End Regional Leash-Free Dog Park to be located off Merwine-Hilltop Drive.
