Former Carbon woman victim of fatal dog attack

A former Carbon County woman was the victim of a fatal dog attack that occurred last week at her Lehigh County home.

On Thursday, April 27, Upper Macungie Township police responded to a home along Spring White Drive to a report of a dog attacking a person. On scene officers encountered the dog attacking a woman on the rear deck of her home.The woman has been identified as Lisa Green, 32, of Breinigsville. and formerly of Palmerton.Green was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by Cetronia ambulance where she was pronounced dead. The coroner's office has ruled the death an accident.Township police said Green's male, 3½-year-old boxer-pit bull mix attacked her at 1:28 p.m.After securing the animal, police called state dog warden Orlando Aguire to the scene, along with representatives from the Lehigh County Humane Society.Police said Aguire took the dog to the human society, where it was euthanized. The dog was sent for testing in an attempt to determine a cause of the attack.The case remains under investigation, police said.Green was a graduate of Palmerton Area High School where she played field hockey and served as a majorette for the Blue Bombers.Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of Lenora (George) Green Robertson and the late Donald L. Green. She worked as a store manager for Bed, Bath and Beyond for the last 16 years.She enjoyed dancing from an early age, attending Melody's Dance Studio in Palmerton. She also loved spending time at the beach.Her obituary appears in today's edition on page 4.
