A serendipitous find

Thursday afternoon while out at Mauch Chunk Lake Park looking for feature photos, Times News photographer Bob Ford discovered he was in the right place at the right time.

After shooting several pictures of turtles, ducks and geese, he heard squawking. While in the bird blind, first one bald eagle flew by, carrying a fish in its talons. It was followed by a second, immature bald eagle. Then a third showed up."I was happily surprised to see them," says Ford. "I knew other people have seen the eagles there, but I've never seen them."
