The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Isaiah Moore-Brown, 28, of Jim Thorpe, was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury on crack cocaine trafficking, cocaine trafficking, and firearms charges.

According to U.S. Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, the indictment charges Moore-Brown with conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute more than 28 grams of cocaine base (crack), and with possessing with the intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, from Dec. 1, 2012, through Jan. 11.Moore-Brown also is charged with possessing a firearmand with being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. The indictment also seeks forfeiture of the firearms and ammunition.The matter was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and by the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General. Assistant U.S. Attorney Phillip J. Caraballo is prosecuting the case.This case was brought as part of the Violent Crime Reduction Partnership, a districtwide initiative to combat the spread of violent crime in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.The maximum penalties under federal law for the charges are life imprisonment. The charge for conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute over 28 grams of crack cocaine, and the charge for possessing a firearm in furtherance of narcotics trafficking each carry a five-year mandatory minimum sentence of imprisonment.
