Student to stand trial over fraternity brother's death

INDIANA, Pa. (AP) - A judge has ordered an Indiana University of Pennsylvania student to stand trial on felony homicide and assault charges over a deadly fight with his fraternity brother.

Indiana Borough police say 20-year-old Brady DiStefano choked Caleb Zweig during the February brawl. Zweig died at a hospital. An attorney for DiStefano says both charges should be dropped after a pathologist testified there was no evidence showing Zweig was strangled. Instead, he points to a surgery performed on Zweig to correct a heart defect.District Attorney Patrick Dougherty says DiStefano was seen with his hands around Zweig's neck. He says, "There's no other reason to support why this young man is dead."A trial date for DiStefano has not been set.
