A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Wednesday following a road-rage incident along a county road.

Troopers said Kevin Donton Jr., 28, of Tremont was charged with persons not to possess/use/control/manufacture/sell firearms, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and recklessly endangering another person for his part in the incident.State police at Frackville said the incident began at 10:54 a.m. near the Gasway gas station northbound on Route 61, about halfway up the "Frackville grade" in New Castle Township, just south of the Schuylkill Mall.Troopers said Christopher Skuczas, 44, no address released, was northbound where two lanes merge into one.The incident escalated and tempers flared over the merging between Skuczas' vehicle and a blue Chevrolet Traverse, which was operated by Erin Lengle, of Tremont, with Donton as a front seat passenger.At one point, Skuczas was able to get in front of the Traverse.Donton then fired one shot into the air in the direction of the victim's vehicle. The shot was fired from a Smith & Wesson .40-caliber handgun owned by Lengle. Skuczas pulled over and parked on the shoulder of the road while Lengle continued northbound.Skuczas notified police which put out a general broadcast.Lengle's vehicle was later spotted along Interstate 81 southbound and stopped by troopers. Lengle and Donton were both taken into custody.Donton was arraigned before on-call District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville in lieu of $50,000 bail.Troopers added that a charge of firearms not to be carried without a license is forthcoming through the office of District Judge David Plachko, Port Carbon, against Lengle, for having firearms concealed in a vehicle without a permit to do so.No one was injured.
