Jim Thorpe Area School District's board of education has announced that applications are being accepted for a vacancy due to the passing of board member Randall Smith, who died unexpectedly on April 14 at the age of 66.

Applicants are asked to submit a letter of intent, along with credentials and qualifications to board secretary Lauren K.
