Dellecker runs for Carbon register of wills

A Carbon County native, Duane Dellecker is retired as the director of the Carbon County Department of Solid Waste and Farmland Preservation program coordinator; serving in various capacitiesfor a nearly 20-year career and gaining extensive knowledge ofcounty and local government, experience he would like to bring to this office.

Dellecker understands the essential duties of the office and said, "The register of wills/clerk of orphans court position has quasi-judicial powers and has jurisdiction over the probate of wills and fiduciary accounts and is responsible to maintain records on wills, inventory of estates, inheritance tax records, registration of licenses (including marriage licenses) and other miscellaneous records. All proceedings relative to estates of incompetents and to adoptions are filed with the clerk of orphans court."Dellecker attended the Pennsylvania Business Institute, where he majored in business administration.His quest for knowledge has led him to become certified in several specialized fields. He is running on the Republican ballot for register of wills because he has a vision for a government that is for the people.Dellecker was an organizer of the Lehighton 150th Anniversary Celebration and is a member of the Weissport Recreation Committee where, amongother volunteer activities, he helps coordinate the Weissport Redneck Festival, heading into its 10th anniversary; a member of the Beltzville Lions Club where he enjoys helping with the Fall Hayride at the Canal and a member of the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club.Dellecker is a member of Lehighton Masonic Lodge No. 621 & Slatington Lodge No. 440, serving as Master in 2000 and 2012; president and founding member of the Carbon County Shrine Club, and member of the Tin Lizzie, Past Master & Hillbilly Clubs; a 32 degree Mason in the Valley of Allentown Consistory; a member of Tamaqua Royal Arch Chapter No. 177; and, a member of Pocono Forest No. 124 Tall Cedars of Lebanon.He is married to Barbara (Love) Dellecker.
