Mahoning Township police have cited a driver after a three-vehicle crash on April 10. Police responded to the crash along Route 209 at 8 a.m. Police said a 2012 Kia Optima, driven by Karalyn Dietrich, 29, of Summit Hill rear-ended a 2010 Ford Econoline van, driven by Jeffrey Sherer, 43, of Coaldale. The Econoline was pushed into a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by Jason Strohl, 34, of Nesquehoning. The occupants of the Kia and the Ford were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. Dietrich has been cited for careless driving and driving vehicle at unsafe speed.
