Several people were reported injured Friday morning when involved in a head-on crash in Towamensing Township just after 9 a.m. in the intersection of Route 209 and Evergreen Road.

According to witnesses a van was northbound on Route 209 and tried to make a left turn onto Evergreen Road into the path of a car traveling southbound, causing the vehicles to crash head-on, coming to rest on the lawn of Forest Inn Auto Repair.

State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident. Route 209 was shut down for a period of time.
