LCCC competes in business summit

Six colleges will be competing in a pitch-off in the first-ever Lehigh Valley Collegiate Business Pitch Summit at Ben Franklin TechVentures in Bethlehem. The colleges that will competing on April 27 include: Lafayette College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Lehigh University, Muhlenberg College and Penn State Lehigh Valley, as well as the winner of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce Business Idea Challenge.

Sponsors will have an opportunity to briefly present their companies to the students and audience. They include Aesculap, Arkados, EcoTech Marine, Follett, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Olympus, PPL and Victaulic.The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ben Franklin TechVentures Innovation Institute, at the Lehigh University Mountaintop Campus.Each college team will have 10 minutes to make their pitch, including questions and answers from judges. The winners will be the top three teams, as well as a "people's choice" winner.It is open to the public and free-of-charge, but registration is required. To register, go to
