Tamaqua police filed these citations last week.

• Douglas James Schartel, 35, of 203 Market St., Tamaqua, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia on April 8 after an officer saw him walking on East Broad Street. The officer knew there was a warrant for Schartel's arrest and took him into custody, searching him for any weapons, etc. The search turned up a syringe, four empty bags with white powder residue and a glass pipe.He was arraigned before District Judge David Rossi on the warrant.• Barry Matalavage, 55, of 223 Market St., Tamaqua, was cited for failing to keep his pit bull confined after the dog escaped from the front yard and bit another dog on April 9.He was cited under a borough ordinance.
