Lehighton State Police DUI

State Police at Lehighton reported the following DUI incidents:

• Police responded to a hit-and-run crash on March 25 on Forrest Inn Road near its intersection with Boyer Farm Road. A 45-year-old man from Lehighton was located and taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence. The man submitted to a blood draw at Palmerton Hospital and was released.• A 26-year-old Brodheadsville man was stopped for a vehicle code violation on March 25 on Route 209 northbound, west of Old Route 115, and found to be driving under the influence. He was taken to the Monroe County DUI center for a blood test. Charges are pending.• A 17-year-old man was stopped for vehicle code violations on March 26 at Dorshimer Road and Burger Hollow Road in Polk Township, and found to be driving under the influence. He was taken to the Monroe County DUI center for a blood test. Charges are pending.• Police stopped a 19-year-old man on March 27 on Route 209 and Burger Hollow Road in Polk Township for summary traffic violations. After speaking with the driver, police found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed.• A 35 year old woman from Nesquehoning was stopped on the 100 block of White Street in Weissport on March 31 for traffic violations. She was found to be under the influence of drugs.• A 22-year-old man was stopped on April 5 on Burger Hollow Road and Dorshimer Road in Polk Township for a vehicle violation. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges are pending.• A 34-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe was stopped for traffic violations at Allen and Lime streets in Weissport. The driver was found to be under the influence of drugs.• A 17-year-old man was stopped on April 8 on Route 209 near Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township for a vehicle violation. Police found multiple indicators of intoxication, and a search of the vehicle yielded drugs. The driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The incident remains open pending blood test results.• A 52-year-old Kunkletown man was stopped at Route 209 and Weir Lake Road on April 9 for traffic violations. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol, and then taken to the Monroe County DUI center for processing. Charges are pending on the blood alcohol content results.• A 27-year-old man was stopped at Route 115 just south of Evergreen Court on April 9. After determining that the driver was driving under the influence, he was taken into custody. Charges will be filed after test results have been processed.• A 27-year-old Brodheadsville man was stopped April 11 at Route 209 and Route 534 for vehicle code violations. The driver showed signs of impairment and was suspected of driving under the influence, and in possession of drug paraphernalia. Police are awaiting toxicology results.• A 37-year-old Kunkletown man was stopped April 12 at Route 209 near Route 534 for vehicle code violations. Police observed indications of criminal activity, and the driver consented to a search of the vehicle, which revealed drug paraphernalia and suspected marijuana. Charges were filed in Ross Township.• A 33-year-old Lehighton man was stopped on April 12 at Route 443 near Route 209 in Lehighton for a vehicle code violation. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and taken for a blood test. Charges will be filed pending test results.
