Renovation on the former Tire Pros building at 24 West Broad St., Tamaqua, is underway with roof replacement and interior demolition projects. The building is currently owned by the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership, which is working on plans for “a positive adaptive reuse of this important historic property” according to TACP Executive Director Micah Gursky.
The former Fred J. Scheid Department Store also formerly housed the Fegley Oil Company Inc. It is located in the Tamaqua National Historic District. The partnership purchased the building in November of 2016. Contractors working on the project are Diamond Construction Group (DCG) and Shane Patrick Construction.
