Man fights with officers during arrest

A Lehighton man who was impaired fought with Slatington police officers when they tried to take him into custody Tuesday night.

Lance A. Moser Jr., 27, was charged with resisting arrest, public drunkenness, false identification to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling at night, and terroristic threats.Moser was arraigned by District Judge Wayne Maura of Bethlehem, and sent to Lehigh County Jail under $50,000 bail.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by borough police officer Jarrod Bulger:Around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Bulger and several other officers were dispatched to a car dealership for a suspect involved in an arson incident that occurred in the area of Route 873 and Railroad Street.Lehigh County Dispatch warned officers that the man was white, wearing orange shorts and was highly intoxicated.Bulger located Moser at the rear of a pizza shop in the 100 block of Main Street, and told him he met the description of a suspect involved in an arson that was seen leaving the area.Moser, who officers detected a strong odor on, twice gave them a fake name.As officers attempted to place Moser into handcuffs, he pulled away his arms and began fighting with them.After officers took Moser to the ground, they again attempted to handcuff him, but he continued to fight, causing officers to subdue him using a Taser.A search was then conducted of a bag that was in Moser's possession, and police located his ID card with his real name on it.Vodka and other items were also found during the search.As he was being hauled away, Moser threatened to kill one of the officers and told the other officers to watch what is going to happen to them when he gets out of jail.Moser is tentatively scheduled to have a preliminary hearing April 19 in Central Court in Allentown.
