Lehighton Borough police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a cat found deceased recently on Lehighton Area School District property.

“The body of the cat was taken to a veterinarian trained in forensics to determine the cause of death,” Officer Matt Arner said. “We are taking this matter very seriously and are putting forth all efforts to find out what happened.”Lehighton Superintendent Jonathan Cleaver said police are handling the matter and he couldn’t comment on the issue.No other details were released at this time.
