The annual spring concert at the Palmerton Area Library, which was set for 7 p.m. April 21, has been canceled.

Diane Danielson, director of the library, said the concert titled "The Shakespearience: Lyrical Lines & Leading Ladies" was canceled due to illness, but may be rescheduled for a later date.The concert was to feature Mandy Brown, accompanied by Sherry Freund, performing text by William Shakespeare in art song, as well as opera arias. The program explores a spectrum of musical styles and languages, which showcase some of the most favorite of Shakespeare's female characters.
