April 8, 1970 - Bruce Kocher captures three events, including a record-setting one in the high jump, to help Palmerton post a 76-42 Lehigh Valley League track victory over rival Slatington. Kocher clears 6-4 to set a new school mark, breaking his own record. He also wins the long jump and shot put. The Blue Bombers, coached by Art George, also receive firsts from Dave Stemler (220), Pete Eck (880), Lynn Beverly (mile), Jim Graver (two mile), Snyder (discus), and John Perich (pole vault). For Slatington, Karl Andreas claims the 100 and 220.
