Towamensing Fire Company President Eric George told township supervisors that March's all-you-can-eat breakfast was an incredible success, with over 640 guests attending the event.
The fire company thanked all the staff and volunteers that helped out during the breakfast, especially Girl Scout Troops 3127 and 3580.George said that the company is considering hosting a breakfast on alternating months.George also announced that the truck the company purchased should be ready for service soon.He specified that the truck needs lettering to identify it as a Towamensing Township Volunteer Fire Company vehicle, and that a colored light needs to be switched to adhere to state law. He expects that it could be running as soon as next month.The supervisors approved the following:• The annual Local Government Day and Recycling Demonstration is set for 1:15 p.m. April 21.• Erica A. Everett was appointed as Towamensing Township Clerk.• Robert Ziegenfus was appointed as a member of the Planning Commission.• A workshop to address zoning and equine and livestock operations was set for 1 p.m. April 19.• The 2016 Municipal Annual Audit and Financial Report was completed by Kirk Summa & Co., and is available to review at the township office.
