Monroe County Commissioner John Christy said this week that Tyler Industries, the company that is undertaking the countywide reassessment, is actively hiring for the spring and summer employment of data collectors.

The applicant must have a vehicle to be considered. The jobs start at $13.55 per hour and include benefits.Anyone interested in working with Tyler can find a link on the county website to complete an application.Commissioners approved the following business this week:• Application for reimbursement of interpreter services in the amount of $31,595.• Receipt of the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the AFSCME, AFL-CIO District Council 84 for the period Jan. 1, 2016 through Dec. 31, 2018.• Change orders for work being done on 701 Main St. for electrical in the amount of $1,471 and plumbing in the amount of $3,271.• Authorization to advertise a notice of a public auction to be held May 5 for the sale of surplus and seized automobiles.• Approve a request from the Monroe County Farmers Market Associations to use Courthouse Square on each Saturday beginning May 6 and ending Oct. 28 for its annual farmer's market.• The commissioners also executed an agreement to reimburse Smithfield Township under Act 13 grant funding for landscaping and habitat improvements at Mount Nebo Regional Park in the amount not to exceed $11,550.• An application for the reimbursement for a countywide recycling coordinator was approved for submittal to the PA Department of Environmental Protection.
