Construction on a Route 209 bridge, which spans Beaver Run in Mahoning Township, has been postponed.
Previously scheduled to begin this week, work is now expected to start April 24 and be completed in late September.During construction, one lane of traffic will be open in each direction.Weather could impact the construction schedule, Pennsylvania of Transportation Department officials said.The bridgeis one of the 558 bridges being replaced under PennDOT's Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.On average, 11,500 vehicles travel that part of Route 209 each day, PennDOT said.The poor substructureis what got it placed on the list for replacement.
