A Lycoming County man was sentenced to a state prison term Monday in Carbon County court on a drug possession charge.

Corey Jermaine Flourney, 35, of Williamsport, was sentenced by Judge Joseph J. Matika to serve 3 to 24 months in a state correctional institution on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. On a charge of false identification to law enforcement, he was placed on probation for a year. The terms run concurrent. He previously entered guilty pleas to the charges.Flourney was arrested following a traffic stop along Interstate 80 on Sept. 26by state police at Fern Ridge. Flourney was found in possession of more than 20 grams of MDMA, a form of ecstasy.Police pulled Flourney's vehicle over around 2 a.m. for following too closely and failing to signal adequately while changing lanes.A search of the vehicle revealed 23 grams of MDMA inside a paper bag, and numerous empty pill capsules. Flourney gave police a false identity, until police fingerprinted him and discovered his real name.Flourney is currently an inmate in the state prison at Mahanoy, Schuylkill County, serving a 13- to 32-month term imposed in Lycoming County. Matika ruled his sentence would run concurrent with the Lycoming term.Flourney was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, pay court costs of about $1,000 and render 50 hours of community service when released on parole.
