A Lehighton Area High School student was arrested Wednesday after admitting to police he videotaped himself and a 16-year-old female having sex in one of the school’s boys’ bathrooms.

Jahmir Joseph Spencer, 18, faces one count each of filming a sex act with a minor, possession of child pornography and invasion of privacy.According to Lehighton Borough Patrolman Matt Arner, the incident happened Tuesday morning around 7:15 a.m.The female reported that she and Spencer had consensual sex, but she saw Spencer’s cellphone on top of his clothing during the encounter.Spencer told her he needed the phone out to use its clock function, police said.Another student told Arner that Spencer showed the video during their lunch period.Police reviewed video surveillance from outside the bathroom, which showed both students going in and coming out of the bathroom. No other students entered the bathroom during that time.Spencer admitted to using the Snapchat application on his phone to record the sex.He was arraigned Wednesday in front of Magisterial District Judge Eric Schrantz and is in Carbon County Prison.Bail was set at $5,000.
