Panthers' Morgans will play football at Moravian

Panther Valley High School senior Brendan Morgans will continue his academic and athletic career at Moravian College as a kicker on the Greyhound football team.

Morgans, a three-year varsity member of the Panthers football team, played kicker, punter, defensive end and offensive tackle for Matt Davis' team. This past season Morgans had 48 tackles with six tackles for losses. He also was successful on 11 of 15 extra point attempts..Morgans was named to the North team for the Schuylkill County All-Star football game and was selected as an offensive lineman on the Schuylkill League All-Star team. He was recipient of Panther Valley's prestigious Major William C. Whitehead award for scholarship, leadership, service and spirit. Last season, Morgans was named to the second team Schuylkill League team as a kicker.Morgans also participates in basketball and baseball at Panther Valley and is a member of the Western Lehigh United soccer team where he plays goalkeeper. Ranked first in his class, he will be Panther Valley's representative at the Schuylkill County Scholar Athlete banquet. He is the President of the National Honor Society, vice president of the senior class, a member of Student Forum, Student Leadership, yearbook, newspaper, Envirothon team and Scholastic Scrimmage team.Morgans is the son of Rick and Jacqui Morgans. He plans to study Bio-Chemistry and then further his medical studies specializing in pediatric medicine.
