Turnpike work set for early Sunday

The Northeastern Extension of the Pa. Turnpike will be closed in both directions from 12:01 to 6 a.m. on Sundaybetween the Wyoming Valley Interchange, Exit 115, and the Clarks Summit Interchange, Exit 131.

Single-lane closures and traffic stoppages may occur Saturdayduring the nighttime hours to prepare for the Sunday closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly.Similarly, PennDOT will close I-476 between the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44, Bucks County, and the Lehigh Valley Interchange, Exit 56, Lehigh County from 12:01 to 6 a.m. Sundayin order to safely remove beams from the bridge that carries Steinsburg Road over the Turnpike, which crosses I-476 at milepost A44.40 in Bucks County.Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
