Man lied to police about name

A Carbon County man is in custody after providing false identification to law officials.

Mahoning Township Police said that at 3:05 p.m. March 7, a male walked into the township police station and identified himself as an attorney for a person involved in an ongoing investigation.On March 8, police, in coordination with Jim Thorpe Police, contacted the male who had identified himself as Attorney Christopher Black at a residence in Jim Thorpe.He was identified as Christopher Miller, 29, of Jim Thorpe.Miller was placed into the Carbon County Correctional Facility by Jim Thorpe Police on an outstanding warrant from Florida.He has been charged by Mahoning Township Police with impersonating a notary public or a holder of a professional license.A preliminary hearing is pending.
