A Carbon County man pleaded guilty in the county court on Tuesday to one count of recklessly endangering another person. He was one of five people in pending criminal cases to enter a guilty plea before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Vehicle incidentErik Michael Schock, 25, of Lehighton, admitted he struck a manwith the front bumper of his vehicle in the area of 2026 Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township on April 10, 2016.State police at Lehighton said Schock went to the residence of his ex-girlfriend and found the manat the residence. An altercation occurred during which Schock allegedly drove his vehicle at the manand the ex-girlfriend, striking him on a leg. A charge of simple assault was dropped in a plea bargain.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service and have no contact withthe victim.ID theftRachael Eve Crostley, 27, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of identity theft. She admitted using a bank cardwithout a woman's permission to purchase multiple money cards at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township. The incident occurred on Nov. 21, 2016. The charges were filed by state police at Lehighton.Crostley is currently an inmate in the county prison serving a 90-day jail term for a probation violation.Matika placed her on probation for a year, consecutive to her current sentence, and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service when released on parole.Gun purchaseAsalia Khalifa DeNyahuma, 27, of Mount Pocono, pleaded to one count of unsworn statements under penalty.She was arrested by state police at Fern Ridge after she attempted to purchase a 9 mm handgun from Eastern Arms & Outfitters, Route 903, in Penn Forest Township, on July 14. While filling out the application she failed to report that she had a protection from abuse order still active against her, which is a violation.Matika placed her on probation for six months and ordered she render 25 hours of community service.Unauthorized useErin Nichole Fisher, 22, of Weissport, pleaded to one count each of unauthorized use of an automobile and possession of drug paraphernalia.She was arrested by Palmerton police after she took a vehicle of a borough resident to get items for the person. However, she never returned the vehicle. On Oct. 17,borough police stopped her in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue with the vehicle. While taking her into custody, drug paraphernalia was found on her person.Sentencing was deferred.TamperingBoguslaw Wojtanowicz, 39, of Blakeslee, pleaded to one count of tampering with evidence.He was arrested on Sept. 17, 2016, at Beltzville State Park by park rangers. He was fishing at the lake when park rangers found him consuming beer. He was charged when he attempted to throw some cans of beer into nearby weeds to hide them from the rangers.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
