Lenten service

The five-church Lenten service will be at Salem-St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kresgeville today.The services includes a simple soup supper from 6 to 6:45 p.m.; choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.; and a 7 p.m. worship service. The supper includes soup, crackers, dessert and drinks.Bring a sandwich. Freewill offering baskets to cover costs will be available.In case of inclement weather, please check Channel 13, WSBG or WVPO for service cancellation information.Effort UMC begins its weekly Lenten study at 5:30 p.m. The worship service is at 7 p.m.Zion Lutheran will hold a Lenten supper and Bible study at 6 p.m.; and the Lenten worship service at 7:30 p.m.AARP tax helpSalem UCC in Gilbert is the location for the West End's AARP tax help.Trained volunteers will be there from 9 a.m. to noon every Thursday through April 13. If schools are closed due to the weather, AARP will also close for the day.
