Schuylkill meth making case heads to trial

A judge has bound over for trial charges that a Schuylkill County couple produced methamphetamine in their home.

Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer determined earlier this month that there was sufficient evidence to hold for court charges against Lorraine Searfoss and Gerald Robert Fisher Jr., 48, both of Kline TownshipThey were charged after police discovered an alleged one-pot methamphetamine operation in their home on Snyder Avenue in August of 2016.According to court documents, police received consent from Searfoss to search the property. They found items used in the making of meth in a carport outside the home.The products were tested and determined to contain methamphetamine.Both Searfoss and Fisher were arrested Dec. 12.During a preliminary hearing held March 7, Judge Stephen Bayer dismissed drug dealing charges against the couple.He still held for court four felony drug charges against both defendants, as well as various misdemeanor charges.They are each currently out on $25,000 bail.
