STEP-Up Carbon will meet at 7 p.m. today at St. Peter's Recreation Center, 177 Main Road, Lehighton.

The featured speaker is Chief Richard Parsons with Adult Probation for Carbon County. He will be discussing the beginning of Carbon's Veteran's Court, and asking for veteran volunteers to become mentors for veterans in the recovery program.The group encourages all members of the community, local government, first responders, nurses, faith-based groups, business owners, people in recovery, etc. to come together and help us tackle the opioid/heroin epidemic.Make a left at Wells Fargo, then a quick right on Main Road.
