A Berks County driver was killed in a one-vehicle crash at 4:57 a.m. on Saturday along Kings Highway, in Lynn Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Kaci M. Kunkel, 18, of Kempton, was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 truck westbound when her truck traveled onto the berm for about 122 feet. The truck then began to spin clockwise and left the berm impacting with a mound of snow with the front end. It then struck a mailbox, continued about 39 feet where it hit a utility pole with the front driver's side door. At this point the truck overturned and continued about 12 feet before coming to rest on its roof facing west. Live power lines and the severed pole were laying on the roadway.Kunkel was pronounced dead at the scene by deputy coroner Craig Hanzl. She died of multiple blunt-force injuries. Troopers noted there was light rain falling at the time of the crash but there were no signs of icy conditions. There were also mounds of snow along the berm.
