A snow-covered Schuylkill County road was the cause of a one-vehicle crash on Friday around 7:15 a.m.

State police at Frackville said Melissa A. Barnes, 35, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet HHR westbound on Morea Road in Mahanoy Township when she lost control due to road conditions. The HHR crossed over the eastbound lane and struck a tree along the berm with the rear of the vehicle.Barnes and her passenger, Trevor J. Barnes, 4, were not injured. Troopers cited her for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
