A motion to approve expenses for the Olympian Stadium sign was pushed back to committee at Jim Thorpe Area School District's Monday night meeting at Penn-Kidder Campus.

The board decided that the request, which sought $10,000 "for all costs associated with Olympian Stadium sign which includes engineering, construction and required application for variance as presented," should be re-evaluated by the cafeteria/building committee, headed by board member John Ciavarella.PersonnelThe board approved the following personnel motions:Tanya Hess was approved as a paraprofessional at the rate of $11 an hour.Elementary education teachers Susan Barford and Donna Seiwell were approved for retirement, effective at the end of the 2016-2017 school year.Administrative assistant and payroll clerk Carol Sheard was approved for retirement, effective June 30, 2017.The board also approved the posting of open positions for two elementary education teachers, one administrative assistant/payroll clerk, and one custodian.
