Third suspect in drug homicide still at-large

The third suspect in the drug death of a Tamaqua girl is still at-large and being sought by state police.

Last week, state police at Frackville obtained arrest warrants for three people, charging them in connection with the death of Alexandria Sienkiewicz, 23. She was found dead in her bedroom on April 2, 2016. A coroner's report indicated she died of acute fentanyl toxicity. The cause of death was listed as a homicide.Arrested on March 7 were Jonathan James Seekins, 33, of Coaldale, and Melanie Lynn Kropp, 24, of Mahanoy City. A warrant was also obtained for Kyle Jacob Merenda, 22, of Barnesville. He was not located last week and is still at-large.Both Seekins and Kropp were arraigned before District Judge David Rossi, of Tremont. Seekins was committed to the county prison after failing to post $25,000 straight cash bail. Kropp was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.Merenda is charged with drug delivery resulting in death, delivery of a controlled substance, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of a controlled substance.Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Merenda is asked to call state police at 570-874-5300.
