Tamaqua Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that took place at the Five Points intersection on March 3.

The victim contacted police after her car was struck from behind by a man driving a dark 1994 era Ford Mustang. The Ford left the scene, illegally passing several cars stopped for a red light at Mauch Chunk and Pine Streets. It then headed east on Mauch Chunk Street.The car is described as dark, with three spoke silver wheels. It is missing a right headlight/turn signal lens.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 570-668-5000 or 570-668-6100.
