St. Matthew's UCC in Kunkletown will host the five-church Lenten service tonight.The evening begins with a simple soup supper from 6 to 6:45 p.m.; choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.; and the worship service at 7 p.m.Next week the same format will be followed at Jerusalem UCC in Trachsville.Effort UMC will hold its service at 7 p.m.Our Lady Queen of Peace will have a regular Mass at 8 a.m.Zion Lutheran, Brodheadsville, will hold its Lenten supper and Bible study at 6 p.m. and a Lenten worship at 7:30 p.m.Commission meetingThe West End Park & Open Space Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Chestnuthill Park Building on Route 715 in Brodheadsville.Friends of West End Park will also be at that meeting.Tax assistanceThe AARP Tax Assistance Group from Lehighton is responsible for the site in the West End of the county. Service there began Feb. 9. Help is available from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday mornings at Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert.If Pleasant Valley Schools have a two-hour delay, the hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to noon.PVEN boardThe Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville.Mission mealWest End Mission will host a meal for those in need from 4:40 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville.Seniors menuThe Chestnut Hill Senior Center attendees can order vegetable lasagna for Friday's hot meal and barbecue chicken sandwich for next Wednesday.
