Ronald Derr Jr. has announced his candidacy for Lansford mayor.

Derr, a longtime resident of Lansford, has been a Lansford Cub Scout master, a Lansford Little league coach and a Panther Valley knee-high football coach.A 1991 Tamaqua Area High School graduate, he is a member of Carbon County Lodge 242 of Free and Accepted Masons."I am seeking the office of mayor of Lansford because Lansford is full of good-hearted people and I have a strong desire to make Lansford a great town to visit or call home," Derr said.
