A Tamaqua woman picked up by state constables on an outstanding warrant on Feb. 27 faces additional charges filed by Tamaqua police.
The constables were at 315 E. Broad St. at 6:30 a.m. to arrest Kathy Dee Tonkin, 21, on the warrants. Once Tonkin was in custody, they searched a bag she had and found suspected drugs and paraphernalia, which led them to call police.The items included nine syringes, 45 baggies containing substances that tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl and $141 in cash.Tonkin was transported to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville to answer to the warrant.Tamaqua police have filed charges of possession with intent to deliver; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
