Emergency crews responded to multivehicle crashes Friday along Interstate 81 north in Schuylkill County near mile marker 135 and the Delano exit with multiple entrapments.

One person was flown from the scene.The crash involved about 25 vehicles and closed both the north and southbound lanes of the highway between Exit 131 (PA 54) and Exit 138 (PA 309). Motorists were advised to use a posted detour for state Routes 54 and 309.Schuylkill County 911 supervisor Tom Shearn said the injured were being transported via helicopter and ambulance."They are still transporting people to the hospital and the ambulances are turning around and going back to the scene to get more," Shearn said following the crash.The road closures also include Interstate 80 westbound in Clinton County and Interstate 99 northbound in Centre County.
