Man pleads guilty in seven cases

A Carbon County man entered guilty pleas in seven pending criminal cases on Tuesday morning in the county court.

Jacob Adam Taschler, 40, of Palmerton, entered pleas before Judge Steven R. Serfass admitting his part in seven burglaries and also to an assault incident.Taschler, who is an inmate in the county prison on the charges, pleaded to three counts each of burglary and criminal trespass and one count each of simple assault, resisting arrest and fleeing and eluding police.Taschler admitted to his part in burglaries on Aug. 5, 20, 24 and 27, 2015, and Nov. 7 and 11, 2015. Four break-ins occurred in Palmerton, and one break-in each occurred in Towamensing Township and East Penn Township. The assault, resisting arrest and fleeing incident occurred on Nov. 13, 2015, in Palmerton involving officer Christopher Ritter as the victim.Serfass accepted the pleas but deferred sentencing, ordering the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.
