Two men were cited by Tamaqua police after an incident at 2:10 a.m. on Feb. 23.
An officer investigating a complaint about unwanted people in an apartment on East Broad Street found Michael Harley, 27, of 317 Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, and James Kresge, 34, of Blue Mountain Drive, New Ringgold.Harley was wanted on several outstanding warrants and was taken into custody after being searched. The search turned up a purple glass pipe with residue and a torch style lighter, which officers saw Harley try to throw away, and two plastic bags containing vegetable matter and one bag containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.He was transported to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville on the warrants and also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.Kresge was charged with possession of marijuana after officers found three baggies containing marijuana hidden in a slit cut in the inner material of his black hooded sweatshirt.
