Warrant arrest leads to other charges

The arrest of a woman wanted on a warrant has led to more charges filed against her.

On Feb 1 at 2:05 a.m. police observed Holly Koch, 24, (no current address), exit a vehicle and enter Walmart in Mahoning Township. The officer was aware of an active warrant for her arrest. Holly was taken into custody on the warrant.During the arrest Mahoning police seized methamphetamine, syringes, a scale, and empty baggies. Koch was placed in Carbon County prison, in Nesquehoning, on the warrant. She has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia (both misdemeanors).A 5-month old child was found inside the car at the time of the arrest. The child was placed with a family member.The driver of the vehicle, Michael Maguschak, 28, of Beaver Meadows, has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor); and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked-DUI related (summary).Preliminary hearings are scheduled for March 22.
