Do you know a successful Lehighton Area High School graduate?

If so, there’s a way to give credit where it’s deserved.

The Lehighton Education and Athletic Foundation is searching for nominations for the second induction of its “Graduates of Distinction Wall of Honor.”

“It’s designed to recognize notable alumni who have achieved success in their occupational field, or who have served their community in a positive way,” said LEAF president, Hugh Dugan. “Applications can be submitted by anyone who thinks a candidate is worthy of consideration.”

A nominee must be out of high school for at least 10 years. Applications can be picked up by contacting Hugh Dugan at 610-554-4864, and can be obtained at the high school office, or on the LEAF website, LEAF-foundation.org

The deadline to submit an application is March 31. Completed applications should be mailed to: Lehighton Education and Athletic Foundation, P.O. Box 370, Lehighton, PA 18235, or can be dropped off at the high school office.

The selection committee consists of seven educators and business professionals, and the winners will be notified by April 30.

The second-annual winners will be honored at a dinner at the Mahoning Valley Country Club on June 11.
