Planning has ramped up for the fourth annual Raising the House 5K Run/Walk. Registration is open and the event is set forMarch 25 at the Palmerton Borough Park. This is a rain or shine event.

Runners and walkers can preregister online at

www.active.com or print out a registration form at

www.raisingthehouse.org and mail it to RTH, P.O. Box 58, Palmerton, PA 18071.The preregistration cost is $25. Participants can pick up their packet from 6 to 8 p.m. March 24 at the Palmerton Borough Hall, Delaware Avenue, or the day of the event at the park.Registration is also available the day of the event at the park. The cost is $30. The registration begins at 8:45 a.m.Pre-race activities begin at 9 a.m. The race will start at 10 a.m. with a brief presentation beforehand.After the race, there will be an awards ceremony in the park.Parking is available around the borough park and surrounding areas.The run/walk is suitable for both the competitive and novice runners and walkers.All of the proceeds of the event help the Raising the House provide financial assistance to families in need, while honoring the memory of elementary teacher Blaine House.
