State police at Lehighton said the driver fled the scene of a one-vehicle crash at 9:37 p.m. on Feb. 18 along Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Leisa M. Ahner, 50, of Lehighton, was driving a 2012 GMC Terrain northbound, just south of Oak Street, and attempting to negotiate a left-hand curve, when she lost control of her vehicle. The GMC struck a tree along the berm with the passenger side rear fender. Ahner continued north and struck a second tree with the front end of the vehicle.Troopers said Ahner then fled the scene but was later located. Damages were heavy to the front of the GMC, which had to be towed.Troopers cited Ahner for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
