A Monroe County motorcyclist and his passenger were injured in a crash that occurred about 7:22 p.m. on Friday along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said Latisha S. Beck, 38, of Saylorsburg, driving a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, and Shaun P. Runyon, 34, of Sciota, driving a 2013 Yamaha bike, were both northbound. Beck slowed to make a left turn and Runyon attempted to pass on the left hand side. The bike then struck the Santa Fe.Runyon and his passenger, Laurie A. Herman, 38, of Schnecksville, Lehigh County, were injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, in East Stroudsburg by West End ambulance. Troopers said the injuries were suspected to be serious. Beck was not injured. The bike was towed from the scene.Troopers cited Runyon for following too closely.
