Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved an increase in the contract cap with Eckert Seamans, Cherin & Meliott, Harrisburg, by $2,500 to cover current and future expenses in connection with the sale of the Rest Haven nursing home.

The extra tasks include matters of workers' compensation, said County Administrator Gary R. Bender.The county sold the nursing home in September to Investment 360 LLC, of Lakewood, New Jersey, for $11 million.Also on Wednesday, commissioners approved an agreement between the county and the Department of Corrections for $108,512 to provide Vivitrol, a nonnarcotic medication assisted treatment pilot program, to soon-to-be-released inmates.The drug blocks the effects of opioids, allowing the inmate to have a craving-free period as he or she starts drug treatment.In other matters, commissioners appointed Megan Degrassi of Pottsville to the Drug & Alcohol Advisory Board for a three-year term beginning March 1.Commissioners also renewed the lease with Thomas J. McAndrew for the rental of 2,500 square feet of office space at 619 W. Oak St., Frackville.The building houses the offices of District Judge Christina E. Hale.The five-year lease begins April 1 and includes $2,310 monthly rent.
