Four area wrestlers earn No. 1 seeds

The brackets for this weekend's District 11 wrestling tournament were released Wednesday night.

Tamaqua's Tanner McHugh (132), Northwestern's Caleb Clymer (152), Northern Lehigh's Ryan Farber (160) and Palmerton's Jared Mooney (182) all earned No. 1 seeds in the Class 2A tournament.

Panther Valley's Hunter Kennedy (160), Palmerton's John Iles (195) and Northern Lehigh's Jason Schaffer (285) are all seeded second the the 2A bracket.

Northwestern's Bailey Wehr (120) and Palmerton's Kyle Kralik (170) both earned No. three seeds.

Pleasant Valley 170-pounder Trevor Dorn earned the highest seed (third) among area wrestlers in the Class 3A event.

The top-four placewinners in 2A and top five in 3A advance to next week's regional tournament.

The Class 2A tournament starts Friday at Freedom High School and finishes Saturday night at Liberty High School. The entire Class 3A event is at Liberty.
