An Albrightsville man admitted to a drug possession charge on Tuesday in Carbon County court.

He was one of six defendants in pending drug-related cases to enter a guilty plea before Judge Steven R. Serfass.Vehicle stopKeith Michael Enlund, 31, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance - suboxone.Enlund was stopped in the area of Seventh and Mahoning streets by Mahoning Township police on Aug. 30, 2016. Police were conducting a controlled drug buy at the time and made the stop after the purchase was made. Enlund was found to have a strip of the drug on him.Serfass sentenced him to serve one to 12 months in the county prison and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render 50 hours of community service when released on parole.He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. March 10.Other pleasJay Michael Abelovsky, 29, of Lehighton, entered pleas in two pending cases.He pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident on July 20, 2015, in the area of 126 Jamestown St. by Mahoning Township police. He pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana for an incident on Dec. 22, 2015, filed by Lehighton police for an incident along South East Alley.On the paraphernalia charge he was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service. On the second count he was fined $300.Nicholas John Toth, 22, of New Ringgold, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on April 13, 2016, along Drakes Creek Road, near the entrance to Lehigh Gorge Park, following a traffic stop.Serfass placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service.Cory Scott Coons, 29, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Sept. 2, 2016, along Susquehanna Street by Jim Thorpe police following a vehicle stop. He was a passenger in the vehicle in which heroin was found.He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Frank Michael Trotta IV, 26, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Sept. 23, 2015, by Jim Thorpe police following a traffic stop. He was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked for violating conditions.He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to get a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.George Richard Yurkanin, 36, of Carbondale, Lackawanna County, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested following a traffic stop on Nov. 16, 2016, by Nesquehoning police along Route 54. Two other counts of possession and a charge of tampering with or fabricating evidence were dropped in a plea agreement.He was previously placed in the ARD program but was revoked for violating conditions.Serfass placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
